Meet Dr. Tonya Dixon, Ed.D, MSN, MBA, MPH, RN
I spent years teaching nurses in classrooms, simulation labs, and clinical settings — and I kept seeing the same gap. Students could memorize. They struggled to think.
My doctoral research confirmed what I was witnessing firsthand: undergraduate nursing students were leaving programs underprepared for the realities of practice. Not because they lacked knowledge — but because they hadn’t been given the right tools to develop clinical judgment — the ability to recognize cues, prioritize problems, and act decisively in complex, real-world situations.
That research became the foundation of The Nursing Station®.
Why I Built This
Why I Built This
As a nurse educator with degrees in nursing, business, public health, and a doctorate in curriculum and instruction, I understand both the science of teaching and the demands of clinical practice. I built The Nursing Station® because faculty deserve better tools — and students deserve better preparation. Every case study, worksheet, and debriefing guide on this platform was designed with one goal: to close the gap between classroom learning and bedside readiness.
Who It's For
The Nursing Station® is built for nurse educators at every level — new faculty finding their footing, experienced instructors looking for better tools, and program directors seeking consistent, standards-aligned resources. If you teach nurses in any setting, this platform was built for you.
